Transportation, rigging and installation of printers and multifunctional systems
How exciting and comprehensive the provision of a wide range of services for high-tech equipment for particular customers can be, recurrently shows up in the daily business of Simon Hegele HighTech Transport & Service GmbH.
In this showcase we give an insight into how high-tech services are precisely tailored to the customer needs of Toshiba and successfully implemented. In this case, Simon Hegele takes over all value-added steps outside of the customer‘s core competence.
The initial situation
Until 2010, Toshiba Tec Germany Imaging Systems GmbH has carried out the end-customer-friendly configuration, transport and rigging, installation and network connection of the devices in Germany itself or with the help of various service providers. In addition, briefings and trainings have also been taken by the Toshiba service and sales staff. These circumstances tied up many resources, led to high process costs and also prevented the company from focusing on the core competencies.
The main focus of this project was the optimization of the logistical processes and associated costs, as well as improving delivery times and increasing customer satisfaction.
As part of the optimization process, Toshiba made the decision to transfer the transportation and rigging, the storage and warehousing management and finally the configuration as well as the installation, the connection and the instruction of printers and multifunctional systems to an experienced supply chain service provider. Thus, Simon Hegele takes over all steps in the process of rigging new appliances and also the complete return of old appliances. The advantage that all SCM steps are carried out from a single source and that the process flows and costs could be optimised, forms the basis for achieving the common goals in the future due to further development opportunities in the cooperation.
